RMS ONLINE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

These requirements must be fully met before the RMSOnline system can be installed and configured.

You will likely require advice or assistance from a qualified technician.

The RMS customer support staff will not be able to assist with the configuration or installation of the below requirements.

  1. RMSOnline only operates with Version 8.8.3 of RMS.  If you are not using Version 8.8.3 you will need to contact the RMS support desk to organize an upgrade to Version 8.8.3 and subsequent training and certification.
  2. A permanent internet connection is required.  This could be in the form of a broadband connection using Cable, DSL, Satellite or Narrowband using a standard Dialup connection.
  3. The RMSOnline client software will need to be installed onto the machine that is hosting the internet connection.  The installation of this software will be performed late in this document.
  4. If you do not have a static IP address you will need to install a Dynamic DNS client such as NO-IP or DNS2GO (http://www.no-ip.com or http://dns2go.deerfield.com). This software will need to be installed onto your internet server and configured.  Your Domain address must be given to RMS support.
  5. If you DO have a static IP address, please give these details to RMS customer support.
  6. At this point you are ready to install the RMSOnline client software.  Please contact RMS customer support to guide you through this process.

Note: Your technician will need to setup your modem/router to forward TCP port 31173 to your server and to configure any firewall appropriately to allow traffic through.  Failure to do this will block RMS online data from our servers.

Information relating to the setup of Port Forwarding can be obtained from our web page at www.rms.com.au web FAQ page.

If you have any queries or concerns relating to these requirements please log a service request through our web page and one of our support staff will answer your query.
